Very rare vintage mystery gravity wall clock with globe.
The globe is made from a blue resin which is cast with the raised countries that are gilded to make them stand out.
The globe has english silver hallmarks of a lion and a leopards head so i think all the globe mounts are silver gilt.
The back board is made from solid mahogany and has a gilded brass bracket to support the globe.
It is all in great condition with it having a plaque at the bottom signed by the makers Devon Clocks.
Dial
Silvered chapter ring dial which goes around the middle of the globe.
Black arabic numerals with single hand.
Dial is in excellent condition.
Mechanism
English 8 day gravity weight driven timepiece movement with platform escapement.
The movement is driven by its own weight, gravity pulls down on the weight of the movement which then turns over the movement. The movement slowly drops down the chain going up through the. middle of it and to wind it back up you hold it from the bottom to release the weight and it will pull itself back up to the top.
Movement is in full working order keeping good time as can be seen in the video above.

Summary
This is a perfect investment clock and a beautiful display piece. A superb hooded wall clock not often seen for sale especially like this of superb quality. Looks absolutely fantastic wherever it is displayed and a true talking point of any room. Exceptional clock which will only grow in value in years to come.
